Steinmannen AS was established in 2016. We sell natural white aggregates to the domestic Norwegian market, on behalf of Norwegian Edelsplitt.

On the South-western coast of Norway, near the town of Egersund, there is a significant occurrence of white Anorthosite at Hellvik. The site has been mined since the early 1960-ies and the mineral has over the years found a wide usage: as abrasive in toothpaste and cleaning agents, garden and park decoration, Petanque courts, ceramic tiles sanitary porcelain, concrete and asphalt.

 

Lysit is a bright coloured variant of the mineral anorthosite, the same rock that can be found in abundance on the moon. Approximately 95 % of the annual production is exported, mainly to Denmark, Germany, Holland, Belgium and France.
